Peter Furness concentrates his practice in the area of bankruptcy, receiverships, banking, business, corporate and commercial law. He served as counsel to the Debtor, Trustee and creditors in numerous major Chapter 11 matter in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. He has also been regularly appointed Receiver by the Rhode Island Superior Court where he operates and sells businesses and assets for the benefit of creditors. He has written and lectured for the National Business Institute, P.L.I., the Rhode Island and New England Societies of CPA's and the Rhode Island Bar Association. He has also conducted a number of seminars at financial institutions and accounting firms on fraud, insolvency, bankruptcy and receiverships.
Peter has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America and as a New England SuperLawyer in bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights, based on a peer review survey by RI Monthly Magazine (2007-2010). Mr Furness has been active in many non-profit organizations as an officer and director for many years.
